Project 4: Interactive Fiction - The Future We Deserve

Title: Collecting Memories / Puella

Premise:

It is year 2050 and the Earth is invaded by sea aliens! But - the aliens do not intend to harm the humans and the humans don’t even know they’re invaded. The sea aliens live on massive invisible ships - and there are five different ships with five different governments. They are not in the best relationship to each other but they are all here together for one reason: to feed off of human knowledge (technology, science, arts, sports, entertainment, everything!). The sea aliens have a very advanced technology but they find humans and earth fascinating and always find out new things everyday. Their technology is so advanced, it creates an illusion of magical powers. Also, as their names suggest - they are excellent swimmers of the sea. They have a memory bank where they keep all the experiences. How do they acquire these memories? They have a select force, MEMORY unit where they send out highly trained sea creatures out on missions - in disguise of humans in different professions. They range from baristas, teachers, gardners, to neurosurgeons. Knowledge can be acquired from all parts of the earth! The main protagonist, Puella is one of the leading members of the MEMORY unit. She is highly skilled in performing magic (being good with technology). Her one flaw is that she can’t swim as well (because she is actually a human! - the sea creatures and her herself doesn’t know that though). The feeling of the game is adventurous and is a great way to see how extremely advanced technology coincide with today’s world. Puella, however who’s always equipped with the highest advanced technology feels void in thinking that her experiences are only for the memory bank and she never gets to truly explore and appreciate the feelings she feels on the earth land. When she’s out on a mission as a ____ she meets James. While she’s on this mission, the sea colonies have begun a big war against each other and is aware that her best friends are in great danger. Puella later finds out about her birth and the fact that she’s actually human. Puella decides to leave her colony.
